About Us
The Rotary Club of Fredericktowne was chartered in November of 1983. The Club was proposed by the Rotary Club of Frederick as a club that would meet in the evening to encourage the recruitment of excellent member candidates who worked out of the County or would not be able to meet at noon. The sponsors of the new Club were Past District Governor Dr. James Sensenbaugh and Rotarian Herb Bloom. Encouragement from these founding fathers resulted in a charter membership of 25 members. The Club has followed the Rotary motto "Service Above Self" as encouraged by Herb Bloom and the model of education support set in place by Dr. Sensenbaugh. We continue to support scholarships at Frederick Community College, assist with a high school Interact Club, and participate in community and international programs and projects. In the 20 years of service, the Club has endeavored to be a major part of the Frederick Community.
